1970 Dodge Hemi Coronet R/T

In 1970 Dodge came out with the Coronet R/T Hemi. Of which only 13 came out of the factory that year and only 4 were 4-speed. Sure its not the most glamorous of Mopar Muscle Cars but its one of the rarest examples from their camp, coming in at number 15 on the Rarest Muscle Car list. The only thing to make it more rare would be to find it in a Convertible, 1970 Coronet R/T Convertible comes in at number 1!   In addition to the rarity this particular car can be traced back to be a California car with matching numbers 426 Hemi engine, which was rebuilt by the authority in Hemi Engines, Dick Landy. It was since restored to perfection (AM Radio with 8-Track included) just before the photoshoot in the original F8 Dark Green Metallic paint that was picked out by the original owner. With the R/T stipe deleted and matching steel wheels and dog dish hub caps, it makes this 426/425 HP Hemi Coronet a real sleeper. The only thing that gives it away is the R/T badges on the side scoops.

Thank you to Mecum for the opportunity to shoot such a rare beast and for Nitro giving me the cover shot on their magazine even though I can’t read a word of French.
